Advanced Tracking System

Posted by Sir Andrew of T4W Ideas on 2008-07-05 16:12:45
I figured out what I needed to do to fully track who is doing what in the database, and I am pretty well pleased with the implementation I came up with. Everyone is able to monitor any changes. The only thing lacking right now is a highlighting of changed fields in the new detailed item history page for each item. Each successive data field is lined up right on top of the last version, though, so you can do without this feature.

More Formatting

I've added some allowed HTML tags functionality to the site. For example, in this news article, I can actually

have a line break or two

or say some text in bold italics. These tags are allowed in long data such as quest walkthroughs. Right now, you can use the p,b,i,u, and br tags and end tags.

Gaming Secrets

Don't miss out on my Gaming Secrets Page (check the menu on the side under Other Pages). You probably know a few things that are on that page, but I can almost guarantee that you will learn something!

Monster Stats Finder

Posted by Sir Andrew of T4W Ideas on 2008-02-12 16:53:02
Since we can only find the EXP of a monster easily, it is hard to know anything else about a monster. I have, however, done the research required to get monster stats based on EXP only. You can find the information on the Monster Stats Finder link on the side menu under Other Pages. The .xls file is protected for your convenience, meaning you can't accidentally change the information unless you first unprotect the sheet (no password). Most servers making new monsters use the creation formulas established by Vircom, so the information you find should be accurate within +/- a small amount.

Out With the Old

Posted by Sir Andrew of eAcceleration on 2008-02-10 16:04:07
All the information that was on the old eA spells, equipment, and items pages are now fully integrated into the new databases! The monsters pages, and a couple others, are almost ready as well, but there is still a little information that would be lost if I removed them. The NPCs page will be hard to move, because the NPCs were not listed in a table. You have a good opportunity to help out your server by entering those NPCs into the NPCs database table. I will have to work on a way for the quests to be formattable, as right now you cannot even include line breaks. This makes it difficult to helpfully display long quest walkthroughs. When this is done, the quests will be transferable. What would be interesting is if someone could find the exact effects of the Will of Ogrimar spell (int mage weapon spell) and the Blessing spell (wis mage robe spell). That would complete the Item Effects table for eA. I hope you all enjoy the fact that the data can be very easily linked together, which makes for better organization and the most helpfully detailed information possible!
